METTA CARTER
Metta Carter is producer and beat maker, composer, songwriter and singer in the band. A sound she shares with one or more international Jazz musicians which gives the music the unique Jazzmospheric spirit.
"A rich vocal with great range from classic rock to intimate jazz with soul roots". She's been compared to singers like Billie Holiday, but Metta Carter is all her own.
From whispering velvety love rains, to raw and bold declarations of love to statements of love and peace in a just world. The musical universe is intense, beautiful and raw, dynamic and authentic with a light surf sound, although the themes in the songs often lie at the heavier end of the scale and call for social justice. Metta Carter is the mother and mentor of MC Noah Carter.

Metta Carter is enriched with Sørens Lee on his EP "Metta Carter" which was released in 2018. And they performed together at the National Museum in the band Jazzmosphere.
MACIEJ SZYMCZYNSKI
With an education from the Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium, Maciej is one of Sweden's leading jazz, soul and pop bassists. He plays with a wide selection of musicians in both Copenhagen and throughout Sweden.

ABOUT LADY DAY
Billie Holiday (born Eleanora Fagan) (April 7, 1915 in Baltimore, USA – July 17, 1959 in New York) was an American jazz singer. "Her great strength was her unique ability to enter popular music's best melodies for decades and recite the lyrics in such a heart-rending way that the often banal words came to appear as luminous poetry. The original girlish sweetness in her singing was gradually replaced by a hoarse fragility in her voice, but she retained to the end the ability to carry the lyrics' often bittersweet knowledge of love directly to the listeners' own experience".

It's always great to sing Billie Holiday's songs. ❤ She is one of the singers who has settled the deepest in my heart. The unpolished pain, deep love and devotion into both music and life. A hard life in the fight against the racism that marked the United States and in the fight to, as an African-American singer, maintain dignity and justice in a male-dominated music industry. Billie's personal struggle with the abuse and love that ended her life far too soon and features in many of her latest audio clips, turns into the deep real emotions we love her for
"I Can't Give You anything but Love" "Body and Soul" "God Bless the Child" "Strange Fruit" and many others of the beloved and legendary songs passed through marrow and bones, and have impressed us all in our feelings of the authentic voice and mood from American jazz.
I hope to honor all the beautiful powerful songs this evening where I have also chosen to sing some of the songs in my own versions with influences from both hip hop and R'n'B.

If the name seems more than familiar, it is probably because Metta Carter is not completely new - at least not in Denmark. She opened "Children and Youth Laboratory" at the Statens Museum for Kunst in a double concert with Outlandish ft. the now world-famous Noah Carter. Metta's son.
Songs dedicated to the fight against racism, and subsequent DK tour with Photographer Jacob Holdt became a musical milestone for Metta, where philanthropic work and music immaculately belong together. The two met in New York, where Metta Carter had lived for a number of years.
The term "Messagesinger" was given to her at a concert in Seoul, South Korea, where Metta originally came from. Precisely the songwriting Metta has dealt with for many years has led to both nominations "best track at the Danish World Music Awards". Scholarships, foundations and cooperation with especially the Embassy of Korea and South Africa in Denmark.

In 2019, Metta performed at the New Orleans Jazz Festival and Louisiana Heritage Festival with both her own Jazzmosphere duo as well as with Louie Fontaine's Rock band. With support from JazzDanmark.

J A Z Z M O S P H E R E R E A L N E S S In my work, I strive to work musically-sculpturally and visually performatively. My jazz ballads create new universes, which in its live expression are combined with human beatbox, lyrics and song as well as live instrumentation. Through my poetry, I pursue "freedom - out of oppression of especially the female primordial force and origin". Underlying there are deeper themes of "social justice". Music is a symbol of man's relationship to nature in ourselves, the understanding of wholeness.The Earth as Hostess ". With many years as a pioneer in culture / music life, I have created significant progress and growth in the industry and already fostered well-known artists, not least my son DMA wins "Noah Carter" as with more than 8 million. streams sets new international standards.
